Lead and manage the whole of organisation corporate services divisions and take the lead driving data governance, leadership, sovereignty, and operations with Te Tiriti and Te Ao Māori view at the forefront.

Ko wai mātou - Who are we?
Te Mana Hauora Māori | The Māori Health Authority (MHA) has been set up to enable greater Māori participation in the design and delivery of health services for the betterment of all. This will be achieved by embedding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as central components of Aotearoa New Zealand’s health reform.

The MHA will play an essential role in enhancing Māori rangatiratanga, ensuring everyone has the equitable access to healthcare and supporting whānau to take control of their own health and wellbeing. The MHA will work in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Health New Zealand (HNZ) and enable Iwi-Māori Partnerships Boards (IMPBs), Māori health providers, iwi, hapū and Māori communities to achieve Māori health aspirations.

The MHA will be the primary source of strategy and policy for hauora Māori. The organisation will identify and monitor equitable health outcomes and will be responsible for leading the development of the Māori health workforce and the direct commissioning of kaupapa Māori services. The newly created role of Deputy Chief Executive, Corporate Services is an integral role that will help transform the sector through a Te Ao Māori worldview and the opportunity to influence inequity within the system.

Te āhua o Te Tūrunga - The nature of the position
This newly established position is a member of the executive Leadership Team - DCE, Corporate Services, and is responsible for the leadership of the People and Capability, Organisational Development and Data and Digital teams. The primary purpose is to provide efficient corporate support to the organisation in the areas of organisational development and performance management, people and capability, data, and digital innovation, and working with Chief Financial Officer to manage the delivery of Corporate Shared Services Agreement with HNZ.

Corporate Services team will be an approachable, high performance, solution focused team helping MHA achieve its outcomes by serving as the backbone within the organisational structure, delivering a range of core functions to enable kaimahi to excel in their roles.
Pivotal to this leadership position will be your expertise in the development of innovative solutions to ensure Te Ao Māori and te reo me ōna tikanga is embedded in all corporate initiatives with a focus on developing and growing the Māori health workforce.

Driving data governance, leadership, sovereignty, and operations delivery within MHA and across the health system, ensuring the development of a robust, high quality national data infrastructure to underpin transformation and innovation in the health system for Māori health outcomes.

Fundamentally changing, innovating, and improving how the health system operates and delivers value for Māori, will include advocating for better data and digital solutions for Māori providers and Māori where necessary.

Utilising your expertise to provide sight into smart use of data and data analytics to deliver insight and intelligence to MHA and partners to inform decision-making across all parts of the organisation policy, strategy, commissioning, surveillance, system improvement and monitoring functions.

This position can be based in either Auckland or Wellington and will include regular domestic travel.
