Senior Advisor (Engagement)

Are you a people focused advisor or senior advisor keen to apply your proven experience engaging in Te Ao Māori to a new and innovative kaupapa? This role can be based in Wellington or Taitokerau and will require regular travel.
Tupu TonuTupu Tonu is an independent, Crown-owned company set up to build a portfolio of high-quality commercial assets which can be offered by the Crown in historical Tiriti o Waitangi negotiations with ngā hapū o Ngāpuhi.

The roleYou will lead the engagement strategy and play a key role building positive relationships with Ngāpuhi affiliated iwi and hapū, to ensure hapū views can inform our mahi. You will also support Tupu Tonu to work collaboratively with other stakeholders including Taitokerau businesses and community, investment stakeholders and Government. The role will also contribute to and lead where required on reporting, briefings, external communications material and policy analysis and advice.
The person We are looking for an experienced senior advisor with proven experience working in Te Ao Māori (Taitokerau experience and networks an advantage). You will:
- Be competent or confident in Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga.
- Be able to champion best practice engagement and build positive networks and relationships within Te Ao Māori.
- Be a skilled presenter, verbal communicator and facilitator.
- Have sound analyst or advisory experience, ideally in the public service. Treaty sector experience an advantage.
- Be a strong, clear written communicator.
- Have experience leading or contributing to policy development and effectively managing projects or programmes.
You will be an outcome focused team player with tons of initiative, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and love getting out into communities.
The role can be based in Wellington or Taitokerau and will require regular travel.
