About Us / Ko wai mātou
At Allen + Clarke we give a damn – about people, each other, our clients, and about our communities, our planet and society. We are a consultancy that specialises in strategic planning and governance, change and business optimisation, programme management, policy development and regulation design, research and evaluation, and international development. Our company purpose is to mobilise passionate and capable people to tackle the challenges facing our society.

Allen + Clarke was founded in 2000 and has offices in Wellington and Melbourne. We work with people across Aotearoa, Australia, the Pacific and Asia. We are trusted advisors to the public sector, businesses and NGOs.

Our optimisation services support clients to plan, enable and deliver smart change. We partner with our clients to optimise their performance and in doing so accelerate and amplify their success. We facilitate and design strategy, operating models, strategic frameworks and ways of working that add value and have impact.

Our approach is to understand our clients: their aspirations, their staff, their communities, their context and their needs. We blend smart and innovative thinking with down-to-earth pragmatism. We collaborate, leveraging the insights, ability, energy and ideas of many. And through all of this we put people at the centre.

We have a history of partnering and working alongside Māori to deliver outcomes that benefit communities and whenua. While we are at the early stages of applying a Te Tiriti approach to our work in Aotearoa, we have started that journey. There is a strong commitment within our leadership, staff and partners to build on this. The person taking on this role would help our team further develop our thinking and action in this space, and contribute to approaches to our work that recognise our obligations under Te Tiriti, put people at the centre, and draw on mātauranga Māori to design ways of doing things that are unique to Aotearoa.

We are well-recognised as leaders in our fields of expertise: our clients come to us for trusted and pragmatic advice on a wide range of issues. You can find out more about what we do at www.allenandclarke.co.nz.

Our team of 115+ consultants are flexible, hardworking and committed. They know how to work with pace and can capably manage multiple activities without dropping the ball. They are good at identifying opportunities and mitigating risks to ensure a project’s success. We invest in our people and support them to grow their skills.

The opportunity / Te whiwhinga mahi
Building on our track record of walking alongside our clients to design organisational strategy and deliver complex business change projects, we are enjoying growing client demand.

This role has a particular focus on bringing a te ao Māori lens to our client work, however we recognise the potential burden on our Māori staff with having to deal ‘with all things-Māori’. You would not be unique or alone in bringing this lens. You would be working with other kaimahi Māori and non-Māori staff and partners to grow our kaupapa Māori expertise across our client work, to deliver on Māori aspirations and Te Tiriti commitments, applying Māori models and concepts for the benefit of our clients and the communities they serve.

We are looking for experienced, well-connected management consultants. You will lead and contribute to the delivery of our existing portfolio of projects and leverage your relationships to support the continued growth of our Change + Optimisation service offering. This is an opportunity to contribute and grow within the core Change + Optimisation consulting team.
