Located on the same site, we have our Community Ministries team (social services), the Family Store (recycling used clothes and household items), and our corps/church-based programmes.Mō te tūranga – About the roleWe are looking for an experienced and strategic leader and manager, with a proven history of making a difference in their engagement with people in need of support, with whānau, staff and other key stakeholders.You will lead our Community Ministries (CM) team to safely and effectively respond to the needs in our community by:- Managing, supporting and developing the team
- Overseeing service/mission delivery and all day-to-day CM operations
- Strengthening community relationships and partnerships
- Providing financial management, quality management, contract monitoring and reporting

- Minimum of 5 years working in social services/health
- Outstanding networking/relationship management experience
- Knowledge of local community providers and marae/iwi/hapū connections
- Change management experience
- Understanding of, respect for, and ability to work with The Salvation Army's mission, principles, and Christian ethos
- An understanding of the needs of people in the Rotorua community, and a strong desire to improve the social and economic wellbeing of people
- Ability to understand and relate to people from a diverse range of backgrounds with sensitivity, care and patience
- Strong cultural competency and experience in Tiriti-based leadership
- Very highly developed written and oral communication skills
- A clean, full New Zealand drivers’ licence
