Enterprise Design and Integrity (ED&I) provides advice, guidance, and direction to ensure our work follows strategic intent, and achieves the outcomes intended.
 
Sitting within ED&I, Te Kāhui Tūhono was created to ensure we have the right people, positions and processes in place to lead our Māori and Treaty Strategy whilst applying the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi: partnership, participation, and protection.
 
Mō te tūnga | About the role

We are looking for two people to join the team to provide analysis and cultural advice to enhance the role of Te Tari Taake in the Māori Crown Relationship.  As a Pūkenga, you will ensure systems are effective and efficient, manage risk, and champion a customer-centric and intelligence-led culture to support the delivery of Government required outcome. 
 
In this varied role you will:
  • Coach and mentor people and leaders to ensure effective understanding of our strategic approach to the Māori Crown Relationship
  • Implement approaches to support better business outcomes for Māori
  • Demonstrate how Te Ao Māori perspectives support the delivery of outcomes in line with our strategic approach to the Māori Crown Relationship
  • Provide enterprise-wise thought leadership to ensure Te Ao Māori perspectives are integrated; assisting others to ensure policy, process and decision making is effectively informed by Te Ao Māori
  • Integrate Te Ao Māori perspectives into the delivery of business and customer outcomes, the implementation of business plans, strategies and approaches, and in relationship management advice and support as appropriate.

Mōu | About you

To be successful in this position you will possess:

  • The skills and knowledge to provide appropriate services to Māori customers in the spirit of te Tiriti o Waitangi, and be comfortable in and with Te Ao Māori, Tikanga Māori and Te Reo Māori
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to share your expertise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to advocate for changes that will benefit and contribute to our objectives and strategic intent
  • A natural curiosity and committed focus on providing proactive advice and solutions
  • Te Reo from Level 5 and above.
