[b]Te whiwhinga mahi/The opportunity[/b] The Puna Kōrero (Advisor) sits within the Te Tiratū team of advisors, analysts and administrators who deliver quality reporting and insights to improve performance across the Māori Land Court (MLC). The operational support provided by the team includes; the group annual reporting and business planning initiatives; day to day support for frontline employees; and, responsibility for coordinating the preparation of briefings and official correspondence, such as, Official Information Act requests, Parliamentary Questions and Briefings for Incoming Ministers. The Puna Kōrero contributes to the team by supporting the management, planning and delivery of projects, improvement initiatives and business-as-usual process and procedure fixes that support the Māori Land Court to deliver consistent services to customers. The Puna Kōrero supports a culture that focuses on the customer, continuous improvement and standardisation, accountability and employee engagement. A key focus of the role is to lead the implementation of small and quick fix business and service improvement initiatives, including knowledge base updates, and establishing and maintaining appropriate and effective internal and external relationships. [b]He pūkenga tou/Skills and experience[/b] [b]To be successful in the role you will have:[/b] [ml][ul][li indent=0 align=left]a good general knowledge of, and respect for, tikanga Māori and competence in, or a willingness to become competent in Te Reo Māori[/li][li indent=0 align=left]an understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi[/li][li indent=0 align=left]a Tertiary qualification in appropriate discipline (desirable but not essential)[/li][li indent=0 align=left]the ability to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including legislation, financial, numerical and business information[/li][li indent=0 align=left]well-developed verbal and written communication skills[/li][li indent=0 align=left]flexibility, adaptability and pragmatism[/li][li indent=0 align=left]a strong customer focus[/li][li indent=0 align=left]experience providing advice in a complex customer-centred organisation[/li][li indent=0 align=left]experience providing written reports and presentations to a high standard[/li][li indent=0 align=left]experience working with senior managers[/li][li indent=0 align=left]understanding of public sector systems and processes, including the use of performance information to inform decision-making[/li][li indent=0 align=left]experience working in a high-paced environment where you are required to influence and respond to changing needs and priorities.[/li][/ul][/ml] [b]Te āhuatunga a Te Kooti Whenua Māori/About the Māori Land Court[/b] We are a court of record.
